NUST Debating Society invites you to the XIII edition of the Fortnight Debates with an all new and riveting topic that’ll enlighten your mind about Pakistan’s constitution and it’s rationality.

A constitution can be defined as a system of laws or rules. Like all others, Pakistan’s constitution is also built to protect and work for the rights of the people living in this country. One such article of said constitution is to be probed by our passionate speakers regarding the criteria on which members of the Parliament are selected, specifically one aspect mentioned in Article 62 (1-F).

“A person shall not be qualified to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless he is sagacious, righteous and non-profligate and honest and Ameen"

NDS will bring to light the validity of this article through the topic “This house believes that Article 62 (1-F) failing to describe mental statures is legally unjustified and thus ought to be removed.”

The event like its predecessors will consist of zealous speakers intent on making you see their perception on the matter. So join us to see whether our constitution is truly channelizing the people's best interest towards the nation or not.
